Let me first say this… I hate looking at people’s photos after they just got back from vacation. I have to muster up the same false enthusiasm as I do when I have to look at someone’s newborn baby.
So when Mark got back from Europe last year, I was like, “ummmmm, yeah sure, I’d love to see your photos.” great. But as he was showing them to me, I realized that his pictures were AWE-SOME. He and his buddy Pat Weiss took pictures in front of international landmarks doing… CHEST BUMPS!!! Yes, chest bumps. (Like the thing George Bush awkwardly attempted with that cadet.)
Anyway, I think these pictures are so cool.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some Publisher hires Mark and Pat to travel the world taking chest bump photos, and then making a Pulitzer Prize winning coffee table book out of them. Crazier shit has happened.
So here are just some of the chest bump photos of Mark and Pat on their trip through Europe…. (click on MORE PHOTOS below the Eiffel Tower picture to see the rest of them. obvi.)
Before you ask… Mark is the guy on the right.

awesome! it’s just like where the hell is matt?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlfKdbWwruY
wow, they got pretty high in the Netherlands
This reminds me of the guy who filmed himself dancing in countries around the world… they should take more pics and make a website, they’ll be famous!
http://www.wherethehellismatt.com/
Now THAT is funny! I assume they needed other travelers or friendly locals to take the shots…the stories of their attempts to find a sympathetic photographer must be hysterical. (“Hi! Can you take a quick picture of us? Awesome! OK, now we are going to leap in the air…”)
you’re right matt. these are more awesome than my newborn baby.
Hilarious! They have some serious hops. I love the reactions of the women in the Big Ben picture.
those have got to be the best vaca pics ever!!!
haha, Those are great pics! They get some nice air in some of them.
Nice work guys
Awesome!! Makes me want to chest bump when I greet people now! I have never you met you Matt but if a good looking, big busted brunette tries to chest bump you when you are at Wolff’s just go with it!!!!
What a great reason to be late to work today. Looking at these photos made me laugh out loud. Then I looked again and laughed some more. And again, and … Fantastic.
You are so right, I hardly even looked at the background, I’ll have to remember this when I get to travel to these places. After all the kids get out and my husband and I can afford it our photos will be walker bumps (seniors gone wild)….
Yeah, nice. But I really don’t want Mark going to Europe, or anywhere without you Matt, I kind of got a lump in my throat on these. Sorry The Real Mark, but I’m just silly like that, hugs to both of you. Now I REALLY want to go to Europe.
I would buy that book, what a great conversation piece (pun intended) for the coffee table, “I’m sorry ! ! !, Did I say that ? ! !” No really cause I’m not gonna fly to europe any time soon and I could use a new book with a lot of pictures.
What a great idea ~ kind of reminds you of those commercials about Albany, and they come up with the locations or words, cool!
Very cool! I’d buy the book too! And damn, they jump high!

[Semi-off-topic rant about photos...]
The reason why nobody cares about other people’s vacation photos is because they’re always the same exact shots that everyone else has taken. But the biggest problem is that people never trim down their own photo albums to just the good 10% or so. Everyone takes bad/boring pictures, even good photographers. Just because Picasa/Facebook/etc make it easy doesn’t mean you need to share 157 pictures from a weekend in Myrtle Beach.
Same for babies — babies all look roughly the same when born. Even after that you don’t need constant reminders. Once a year is sufficient to track their growth.
Take all the pictures you want, but keep them to yourself.
sweet hang time!!! Test those two for HGH!!!
Love it. Croatia is my favorite, and not just because of the shirtless men.
LOVE these pics! Makes me wish I could come up with something like that…
Those pictues are great. Now did they have a third friend with them or were they just having random toursits/locals take the chest bump pictures of them?
way too funny!!! looks like they had an awesome time!! why didnt u go??
This is hilarious! They can seriously jump by the way.
That is Awesome!
This is so classy, I also love that they have coordinating sneaks/flip flops in all the pictures. What a great way to capture a trip!
If the people around them weren’t sure if they were Americans, doing chest bumps surely confirmed it. Nice pics.
I would buy this coffee table book.
this is why I love Friday Puppy. I can be so stressed or annoyed at work, and there’s always something here to make me laugh or think and generally distract me . . . thank you very much!
@ # 3…Lol!! Definitely, I was in Holland for 3 weeks in ’94
glad you guys enjoyed those.
@#22 – actually – we ended up using the automatic timer on pat’s camera and did all the picture taking ourselves. you have to get the timing exact and because different cameras have different lengths of time from when you press the button till the picture actually takes, it was tough for other people to do it.
but people wouldnt stop volunteering to take the picture! in the pic at the Arc de Constantine, this one italian guy kept insisting he take the picture for us. after a bunch of “no thank you’s” (guy didnt speak a lick of english), we finally let him take the pic. which turned into a disaster (ok…a little dramatic i know). but that’s why that pic turned out so bad.
by the end of the trip, we would get a good pic on the first try.
I hope this trend sticks. That is way funnier than people throwing gang signs in pictures, or doing pouty faces, or a group of guys all crossing their arms over their chests like mobsters, or black people not smiling.
What would be even better is if they chest bumped famous people along the way… “Here’s me chest-bumping the Queen of England… Here’s my buddy chest bumping the Pope… “
This is amazing.. Mark is officially my hero
These are the kind of vacation pix I don’t mind looking at. Fun!
I think those who travel around should take pictures in front of famous landmarks in their Friday Puppy T-Shirts! I wonder how many landmarks we could hit.
An Al-Qaida rookie sits near the Eiffel Tower and asks his partner “How do we pick out the Americans?” After witnessing a Mark/Pat chest bump, the rookie says “Nevermind.”
OK, is it me (it most likely is) what is up with wearing a helmet in Switzerland, is it a safety requirement ? Ha, Ha, Ha,
P.S. When I read the title “Chest Bumps” I thought maybe you had a little rash.
Love it; talk about unboring pictures. I have the boring kind – me and the husband in front of all this stuff. Even cuter than some of the puppies!
Vatican City is not in Italy. :)
LOL!!! @ #37
oh i hate the name of this post….overhearing my mom and aunt talking about me wanting my first bra…….ugh…great pix though!
Thank you SO much for sharing these! I needed a good chuckle tonight :) And really, make a book or a site… you know we’ll all go. This is hilarious.
typical americans ;)
