While I was out, my dog Niko just tore up the full garbage bag I had sitting by the front door. I forgot to take it out.
I came in the back door, and I knew something was up because he didn’t even get off the couch (yes, I let my dog get on the couch.) Usually he runs right up to me, but today he just looked at me, then put his head back down on the cushion.
I was like, “what’s up bud… how come you’re not……” and then I saw it. And then I slowly turned my head around and looked right at him. And then we just stared at each other for about 3 minutes, neither one of us saying a word. (I feel like if I just stare at him, that he’s going think, “woah, Matt must be pissed. He’s not even saying anything!”) But he just kept looking at me with those sad, shameful eyes.
It’s hard to get upset at him because I love him so damn much. Plus I can’t help but feel like it’s partially my fault for leaving the garbage out.
He ended up eating a 1/2 loaf of moldy 100% whole wheat bread, steamed chicken and broccoli from Amazing Wok, some coffee grounds, lots of tissue paper with stuff I won’t mention on it, and he somehow managed to lick clean a jar of peanut butter. I have no idea how he gets his tongue to the bottom of it, but he does somehow. He is going to make some lucky Basset Hound a very happy dog one day. (In dog parks, he pretty much only wants to have sex with the Basset Hounds. I’m not sure why. I guess he’s not a legs man.)

funny how we feed them well treats etc and they still eat crap they shouldn’t….My Hampton loves everyones underwear and sweats…I am so careful to pick them up after our showers and he still manages to sneak and get them….the best is when you I put sweats on before bed sat down to talk to my husband scrunched my feet up on the couch and my husband was hysterical…I had homemade crotchless stripper pants and had no clue….
OMG I just went to fill my cup of joe and bam another pair of my GAP $8.00 underwear unwearable!!! Not fair when guys get 6 pairs for the same price…I need a taller hamper!

You can’t expect any dog to resist such temptation! They are good at making you not be mad at them, though…the droopy head, the big sad eyes. If I could, I would vote for Niko this week, then I wouldn’t have to choose from these adorable babies.
Cooper is too cute! Plus, he’s at home sick right now, and I just know a Friday Puppy t-shirt would make him feel better. Please vote for Cooper.
lol. glad i’m not the only one who had to clean up garbage this week – layla did the same thing except she has learned to tip over the garbage can, pull the bag out, and sufficiently shred/eat/maul everything inside of it. fun!! but like you, i can’t stay mad long… damn it.

aww all very cute! My vote goes for Cooper! and sympathy towards the two dachshunds whose lives were short lived due to a lacking and cruel owner. Hopefully the culprit gets what he deserves! (I know this incident happened a few months back but I’ve just heard about it). On a more cheerier note, If Niko doesn’t mind Chihuahua’s I can watch him sometime =)

I have to tell you that I very often return to the puppy photos for a little pick me up. What a great way to improve a blah workday! Looking over this group again, I have to say I’m a sucker for a dog (or cat) soaking up the sun. Henry is doing a beautiful job of it.
Tanner’s lead is soooo not stapled to the porch. He has a long run out into the backyard at the foot of a beautiful mountain!!!
