…for those of you interested, Bombers is having their 4th Annual Spelling Bee next week! It’s so much fun, and if you’re the best speller (spellar?), you win $250 in prizes! I love this event because it’s hysterical how completely serious these people are about their spelling.
Some additional details…. $10 entry fee, must be 21+ years old, you can’t enter both locations, you don’t have to dress up like a bee (unless you want to), the words are difficult, it’s mucho fun.

Can you give us some examples of the words, like the ones that have decided the competition in years past? I’ve always wanted to attempt a spelling bee but the ones you see on TV are a couple orders of magnitude out of my league.
@Ellsass… tourniquet

First word… spell Matt’s last name… (after a few drinks this may be a hard task)
I think it is spelled ‘tournament.’
This makes me sweat just reading this….in school I was always the one to win for our grade level or whatever but I was always too scared to go in front of the whole school and spell!! Maybe a few drinks would help, but then I probably couldn’t spell anything : )
how do you spell A-N-X-I-E-T-Y? No,thanks,I can’t compete but being a voyeur,I’d love to watch,tee-hee
I love this idea, although I feel that the recipe for success may be a 2 jimbo minimum entry fee rather than $10. Am I right or am I right?
is the event on the 16th a separate match or is it a continuation of the 9th’s festivities?
curious…
