What are you doing Saturday afternoon?
I’ll tell you what you’re doing Saturday afternoon. You’re going to go Lark Street in Albany, NY to watch the 4th Annual Santa Speedo Sprint. Basically about 200 guys and girls run up and down Lark Street in the freezing cold wearing nothing but a speedo in order to raise money for The Damien Center of Albany (a community center for individuals and families living with and affected by AIDS).
I’ve ran it the past 3 years, and it is fucking COLD a ton of fun. One of the most embarrassing moments in my life was finishing the speedo race, only to be interviewed by a TV station… in my turquoise speedo… in -8 degree weather. Good times. (ugh, I hate when people say “good times”…. I can’t believe I just said that.) I wouldn’t normally get embarrassed wearing a speedo because I swam in college and, well, that’s what we wore, but the fact that I was being interviewed on a news station wearing one, well that was a little awkward.

Ok, I’ve recovered. Now we have all forgotten the most important part of this; besides Matt in his Speedo. This is a charity; so Matt if you are running and need sponsors; Friday night would be the time to corral your troops into giving you a few bucks for this most worthy cause.
I have seen Matt’s pic from last year. It looks like a lot of fun for a good cause. I really wish I could be there to see everyone in person, but I have to work. I will be sure to make a donation, and hope that people take and post lots of new photos.
I guess it’s not lost afterall.
