Albany John drove this old Subaru (I think it was a legacy) when we first met – a real workhorse 5-speed wagon. I learned how to drive stick in it, and wow, did we ever have some adventures in that gal.

It got to the point where you could hear him coming 2 blocks away (the exhaust was jury rigged ad nauseum) and our neighbors were bitching about the noise. I’m pretty sure the exhaust was coming up through the floor boards, so he finally agreed to buying something to replace it. Either another subaru, or a 5-speed wagon, 4wd, and dark in color.

Jeeze, that was one looooong car search on my end.

Oh, I wish you were doing the 50 words or less contest. My boyfriend’s old old car was totaled in an accident – he drives for a living and an Outback would be the best gift ever.

I’ve owned a Subaru (Legacy) and LOVED how it moved me quickly through the slush and snow. I just needed a little more ‘pick up’ (I like things fast) and so if I was going to own another Subaru, it would be a Forester – Turbo. Vrm-m-m-m!!! Vrm-m-m-m!!!

Subarus are great for all of the reasons listed as well as they are super safe! A Subaru Outback saved my mom’s life in a horrific Taconic Pkwy crash. Go for it, Matt!

I love both of my Legacy wagons. The ’98 has 227,000 miles on it and runs like a puppy. The ’06 is a real looker(med blue/tinted glass) and is already up to 65,000 miles. I ski, so they are perfect for for getting to the slopes in snowy weather, with relatively good mpg to boot. I’m really amazed at some of the inclement weather they’ve taken me through. Amazing. And, lots of fun to drive…but not as much fun as my Miata MX-5.

We’re in Florida right now (and cold!). Drove our Subaru down – got great gas mileage. This is our 3rd Outback – still have two running, one is over 175+ miles. Just put triple treads on our newest (a 2004) and it grabs the snow and ice great!
I’m a doc and it’s so reliable in the bad weather.

Recent calculation 400 or so to go…only I will not be going (thanks to an early bad decision that I have regretted (not really) ever since)

I’ve decided that Matt needs a Hummer, they are really reduced in price because of the economy, and I would get a referral reward – somehow we all knew it would be about me somehow!

Oooh, I loved my Subaru!!, and I am not even a lesbian! That thing was awesome in the snow, never had any mechanical issues in the 3 years I had it, and it was so fun to drive. I swore I’d run that thing into the ground! But, I have a tendency to get bored after a while so I got rid of it. It was the first car I was so sad to leave behind at the dealership! I loved Goldstein, btw. The guy at the one on Hoosick St. was telling me all about all the things it had like HEAT and a TRUNK that I just could not…
