I have a ton on my mind lately and am not feeling all that entertaining (wahh waahhhhhhh). So I’ll give you a look inside at the reconstruction of Bombers Lark Street. On one hand I’m so excited, and on the other hand I feel like I am going to throw up my liquid lunch. Which is how I’ve felt for the past week or so.
This video was taken just a few days ago, and we’re supposed to re-open in two weeks (excuse me while I hurl). Please note that all the sheetrock was ripped off the walls, and the floors are dug up. So it looks like a bomb went off in there (pun intended). But when it’s all done, it is gonna look beeee utiful.
However, until construction is finished, please expect very little from me on Friday Puppy. Thank God I have Christy and David and Political Puppy to help me out with some amaaaazing blog posts. Right guys? guys??

When they showed the kitchen, my jaw dropped. When you said renovation, I didn’t realize that the concrete foundation would be torn up. Can’t wait to see it when it’s done!
Renovators get paid big bucks because they are one of the professions that can fully make you fear then turn it into pleasure when the job is done.
Seriously? OMG Matt, there is so much going on there! Digging up the floor? What is that for?
Now *I’m* stressed for you. I promise not to hurl if you do.
Oh it looks fine, it will be fine and better than ever; don’t fret too much but keep on visiting them so they don’t get side-tracked. Breathe…….
Matt, You take care of yourself, construction projects are very stressfull and can literally make you sick (sleeplesness, chest pain, acid reflux) take many deep breathes and think happy thoughts. Talk to these people and keep informed on daily progress, or lack of and find out why, don’t wait for surprizes, know what might pop up and if all else fails we will wait a little longer for Bombers to be renovated, Your friends don’t want to see you get all grey and wrinkled over this but we would love ya just the same ! !
“digging my grave” haha!
Done right, and it will be a lost headache upon reopening!
It’s going to be great! I can’t wait to see what it will look like when it is done. Breath…..Drink…..Breath…..Drink…..Drink…..Drink…..and then it will be over!
wowwwwwww that’s crazy.. I’m going through serious Bombers withdrawl. I cannot wait for the reopening!!!
Wow, I can understand your concerns. My advice: buy more vodka.
Holy crap! That’s some major work. Looks like a disaster area now, can’t wait to see how awesome it turns out!
Holy mole….get it mole? hahahaha.cant wait for the re-opening!
Camp out at Wolff’s with all the amazing German Beer is over… that will cure your stomach or maybe a shot or ten of vodka
I can’t view the video here at work, but I just drove by this morning and it looks like they are very busy. I’m sure it will be amazing when it’s done. Can’t wait to see!
Holy crap!
wowza matt. i know it will be amazing when it’s done. i can’t wait to visit albany and see it!
It’ll all be worth it in the end Matt :)
I seriously think I buried acouple of bodies in that basement back in 88′ when I tried being a serial killer for acouple of months. I gotcha catch a flight to Mexico peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any video of the upstairs? I assume you are renovating that as well?
@ Renickulas: It would appear that the upstairs does not currently have a floor. There’s a point in the video where the camera points up to the bar area.. straight through to the second story from where the kitchen area was. I would guess that there probably won’t be video of the second floor till, well, there’s a floor.
Yikes. Looks like a lot of work, but I can’t wait to have my first Margarita in the improved place.
OMG! i know it’s going to be amazing, but it was almost heart breaking to see that. i love you matt!
ditto what lynn said
#5. Thanks for that. I am rennovating a late 1800′s country house and that is exactly what I am feeling. It is very stressful. Especially when you have no clue (like me).
Matt: did they find anything historical or interesting when digging around? My contractor found an old beer bottle and a paint brush.
True true, somewhat sad but I trust it will be better than ever.
Im so glad you asked the guys to dig you a wine cellar.
Are you doing it all 220??
Can’t wait to check out the new and improved Bombers on Lark!!
Holy Mother F’in $h!+. Yeah, I didn’t expect to see that. You’re not exactly just throwing up some paint and re-sanding the floors, huh?
Wow!!!! Can’t wait to come eat after it re-opens!!
OMG!! Renovation…you mean demolition!!! I thought you were just updating the kitchen!
Crisan on Lark Street closed for a *month*, now that. Exactly how much food do I need to freeze ahead of time :) ?
Good luck! Looks… different. That solid (?) wood bar at Wolff’s is spectacular, hope to see something original at Bombers 2.0 too.
