1. Time Warner DVR sucks. I’m so sick of missing the last minute and 1/2 of every show.
2. Modern Family is my new favorite tv show. Y la actriz latina es mi favorita.
3. I really liked Paula. I love Simon. And Randy and Kara do nothing for me. I think Ellen should stick to her talk show.
4. I’ve never seen a single episode of Law & Order or that show with McStreamy.

I’m in glee withdraw! Agree with #1 but I always tape the show after the show I’m taping so I’m guaranteed the last 2 minutes… And my husband always tapes at least 3 sports games in a row bc what if the game goes into overtime… hello dvr ocd!

I’ve never watched McDreamy and I don’t watch AI. I am addicted to Hoarders, though. It’s a train wreck and you can’t stop.
When you go to set the DVR just add more time to the end time of the show. TLC shows do that all the time instead of 10pm-11pm just go from 10pm-11:02pm… I always miss the girl in her wedding dress on Say Yes to the Dress!! What about Rescue Me? Is that ever coming back??
Modern Family Rocks! I’m also having Mad Men (and Glee) withdrawal. Love those shows, even though I never see the last minutes of them hahaha.

1. you can adjust the time a recording stops and starts down to the minute, which might be tedious, but i don’t think it’s really tw’s fault.

Modern Family is my jam. I like Betty too though.
1. That’s not entirely Time Warner’s fault, and their DVR isn’t the only one that’s doing that. Certain networks are pushing the start and end for a show to a minute or so after the hour to discourage people from using DVR and watching the show real-time. You know, so they don’t fast forward through the commercials. Spike in particular is notorious for this.
3. I think it’s amazing how someone completely unlikable and confrontational will audition for them, and you’ll be like “wow, what a jerk.” Then Kara opens up her crazy mouth and you’re like “oh nevermind, she’s still the biggest sociopath in the room.”

OMG- I think I might be in love with you people who have now solved my DVR dilemma… god damn thing always cuts off and pisses me off- especially when I want to see what is coming up next week for my favorite show which is done for the season- Son’s of Anarchy… absolutely awesome show! Unfortunately, I think they should’ve canceled SNL years ago..I feel like they’re beating the dead horse b/c there are no other live 1 &1/2 hr variety shows out there nowadays..holding onto to nostalgia to its detriment..It lost it’s edge a loonngg time ago.. It’s not as funny, & they no longer have the huge break out stars
The girl from the McDonalds commercial was also in a commercial for Target this past holiday season. It was the one where the geek gives the cute girl a necklace and she says “I didn’t think we were there yet”.
Oddly enough, the hot blonde from the McDonald’s commercial was a guest star on Law and Order a few weeks ago. No joke.

I will admit, to my husband’s never-ending irritated surprise, I do watch the housewives shows.
My favorite is Atanta Housewives.. but if it was a choice between NY and new jersey housewives.. NY wins hands down.
Time Warner’s DVR is like the free cell phone you can get with your contract. It isn’t what you want – you want the Iphone or the Droid. For a DVR you want the Tivo. Yes it will cost you more, but it is waaay better. Crazy better. You can pay for it monthly like the Time Warner one or you can go all in and buy an unlimited contract, which is cheaper if you have it 21/2 years or so. I added a external 1 Terrabyte drive to mine, and have never filled it up even with HD programming. The best thing is they have a “secret code” to change the forward key to a 30 second skip key so you zip right past the commercials 10 times faster than with the Time Warner DVRs fast forward buttons. Whats THAT worth over the next 3 years of your life?
Sorry for the commercial, I just think its way better and most people don’t think about it.

Couldn’t live without my dvr – sometimes need to adjust end times, pisses me off more when something starts late b/c of sports, so I always have to record something extra. Modern Family is the funniest show on tv. “casablanca”.

If you are into adult cartoons (!), give a shot to “Archer” on FX. It’s as morally outrageous as “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”. Voiced by the great H. Jon Benjamin (Coach McGuirk on Home Movies) and Jessica Walter (Lucille Bluth on Arrested Development). First episode was fun.
Love Modern Family- best show on TV currently. Set everything on the DVR to run over if you want to see the end guaranteed. Used to like Grey’s, getting old and very stupid, might have to drop it. Maybe I’ll watch DeepEnd.

Not a big TV fan- just don’t want to waste time on lousy shows, but caught Modern Family the other night and was hooked from the start. Snappy, funny fresh dialogue. Then, I saw that Christopher Lloyd was one of the writers- Of Course! He’s pure genius! He was so funny as Jim in Taxi!
I love greys anatomy although the last few episodes suck. Ever get into Dexter or Californication?
I was having the same problem with my DVR…. And then I figured out that you can changed the time that your DVR records too… So if you show starts at 8:00 and ends at 8:30, go into the 8:30 timeslot box and change the time to reflect 8:32 or what have you!! This way you dont miss anymore of your show!!!!

#39: There is Christopher Lloyd the actor (Taxi) and Christopher Lloyd the screenwriter (Modern Family). I made the same assumption awhile back. Either way, Modern Family is hysterical and my favorite. Next to The Office.

Did you notice TODAY, they changed the programing for DVR recording. I came home to watch my usual BS and none recorded. So now we ALL have to re-record anything that was scheduled. The worst part is trying to understand the new format, it’s not as (I know I hate this term) “user friendly” as before. You may enjoy one new feature of recording it gives you the option of extending the end time, so you won’t be left with a cliffhanger you’ll never see. Love to hear your opinion.
