Each week at Friday Puppy we’re going to try to give away a prize to our readers. It will work similarly to the 12 Days of Christmas contest we had over the holidays. It will most likely be on Thursdays, so get ready to win some fantastic prizes.
For this week’s prize, we are featuring a very talented artist named Jennifer Maher who started a business this past year called Custom Toy Portraits. She’s a painter who specializes in portraits of unique and significant toys, particularly kids “lovies”. (her words not mine, I actually have no clue what “lovies” are. yikes.)
If you are interested in having a portrait of your dog (or cat, I assume), be the 28th commenter on this post and Jennifer will d0 a FREE portrait (8″x10″ size and $100 value) of your cute pet, for you to have forever and ever and everrrrr. Actually, now that I am reading through her website, there are many different kinds of portraits she does, so it doesn’t have to be pet specific. I mean, Valentine’s Day IS coming up, so maybe you can have her paint a very sexy portrait of you on your couch in your sweatpants eating chocolate.
UPDATE: Congratulations to CSSM who has won this week’s Puppy Prize!

I love this idea!
Believe me, nobody would want to see a “sexy” picture of me. Probably not even my wife :-P
Oh my gosh, I ALWAYS say I want a portrait of my dog! He is a pound puppy but I just think he is so regal looking and just the most handsome guy.
How nice. She’s very talented.
My kitty Jonas needs to be the winner!
Very cool! I’ll take a stab at it!
I would love to have one done of my Siamese cat.
Not seeing a limit on the comments. Can’t believe I am #1?

BTW – why 28th? what did I miss?
As corny as it is, I’d actually love a painted picture of my dogs. Although it would probably end up in the back of a closet somewhere…

I saw her work featured on AOA! The portraits are lovely! This is a great prize for whoever wins!
Do I win!?
Could I be eating ben and jerry’s in the portrait instead?

What a fabulous idea for a business! I’m sure I’m not the only person past the acceptable stuffed animal age who finds this appealing :)
Pick me pick me :-)
My dog would love a portrait! (Ok maybe he wouldn’t care, but I would love it!)
I’m afraid of commenting too soon, because I would really love to win this prize. Whether I win or not, you rock, Matt!

Is there a winner yet???
Does she work from photos? Because then I would choose to get one of Muffin – she deserves to be memorialized forever.
sounds great!!
My pup just died two weeks ago and this would be a great way to remember him!
I am only speaking for myself but I don’t want a painting of my dog or myself, but a painting of you laying naked on the bar at Bombers with a burrito or Wolf’s with a snausage would be pretty good!!!
I would love a portrait of my lovie =) which happens to be a german shepherd
Come on lucky 28~
The “kids” need to be imortalized. immortilized. imortallized.

I’d love to have a portrait of my GS (who came in second on Christmas Friday Puppy! So proud! ;)
Oh I would love to have a portrait of my dog done. He’s going on 11 and I still feel like it was yesterday when he was still a puppy and he had such a big head that I thought he was going to fall over head first.
Her art looks amazing. I guess it’s a way for parents to throw out the tattered blankets and Teddy bears but keep the memories.
I love chocolate but I don’t think I need a painting of me eating it. Maybe it could be one of those motivational things.
Polo would love his portrait painted!
