UPDATE: The pig has been returned!!
It’s been an emotional roller coster ride for me only. But at 10:08pm last night I got a text message from one of the guys in the kitchen at Wolff’s (Eric Foster) saying “We got the pig back!“.
I immediately called him and said, “Eric. Don’t fuck with me. Are you serious!?” and he said that one of the guys in the kitchen went to take the garbage out back to the dumpster, and the pig was sitting there, right by the back kitchen door.
We’re not sure who returned it, or why, (or why they put it in the back alley) but thank you very much for returning our pig. Look how happy he looks.
And YES, moving forward we’ll either secure it down with concrete, or just keep the pigs inside from now on.

still assholes
Oh yay, finally the piggy back in his own poke! My faith in humanity restored…curiously enough,is the pig still on the porch in Rotterdam?
Exactly what I was hoping to hear this morning.
Glad to hear your good news! What an emotional roller-coaster you’ve been on.
Do the pigs have names? How about Brat and Knock – the Wurst Brothers?
Keep the Pigs inside..They might get cold..hahaha..Hopefully the Saga of the Pigs is over..Congrats.. =)
Thank goodness. I have been telling everyone I know to kep their eyes open for him!!
Yeah ! !, Matthew, I am so happy for you, now if you want them to be somewhat mobile go buy two of those moving dolly’s (you know the ones with 4 wheels and are carpeted on the ends) and have your handyman (you must have one! !) and I’ll bet you love to watch him work, Oh sorry got off track there. bolt them to the dolly’s and then they can go out when it is nice and bring them in at night to keep them safe.
Maybe we’ll see photos on travelocity like the gnome….all the fabulous travels Wilbur had…that would be awesome…or maybe a sex tape is going to come out Wilbur does Washington Park and you get demand royalties!!!
Yeah! Now chain that damn pig up!
Yay!!!!! oh happy day, the piggies are where they belong!
There was a wonderful Laurel and Hardy movie that featured a pig-knapping. I believe it was Babes in Toyland.
I was at the Biergarten on Saturday night and saw the two pigs and loved them! It made me think of stone creatures that rich people have in front of their house to show they are important. Then I was at brunch there on Sunday around 2 and noticed there was only one pig and was confused as to why there was only one…and thought maybe I had had too much the night before and only thought I saw two.. I’m glad I’m not going crazy…I’m glad the pigs back!!!
Rejoyce!!! Rejoyce!!!! I can’t wait to meet them on Friday
Wow! You were about the paint job..they look amazing!
I was at a friends house one time and someone had showed up with 6 mugs the from biergarten. I snuck them into my car and returned them the next morning….some people are scumbags.
Yeah, they should be secured…or I see this “oh no the pig is missing” “yay the pig is found” becoming a too-often regular topic on the blog.
but seriously, glad someone was a good enough person to return it/them.
You know, it would have SUCKED if the pig was not returned- but the fact that it was pignapped, TWICE, and returned, TWICE, makes for one helluva story.
I’m so happy for you Matt!
Looks like this is going the way of the painted horses in Saratoga, so glad they were returned intact! I also like Marnie’s (#8) comment about the Travelocity gnome – thought I see them more like Flat Stanley – the puppet/cartoon that school kids send all over the country on adventures. You need to supply the pigs with a digital camera or phone to record their antics!!
Yeah!!! Can’t wait to see the pigs next time we come!!
omg this is CRAZY!
