When an academy of voters is willing to give Chris Brown an award, I have to take some exception to that award’s validity.

For those who might not know, in the world of fashion magazine publishing, not all months are created equal. September is a big deal, August, in the words of Linda Evangelista, “is not a big month”. She said that to Cindy Crawford’s face on tv once when Cindy Crawford was trying to brag that her she finally got a Vogue cover, her first, in August. Then Linda Evangelista got knocked up by a billionaire and Cindy Crawford sold Pepsi on tv. You do the gay math.

Anyway, back to my story. March is the second biggest month of the year. Ads cost more, circulation is pretty high, and stores are in full receipt of Spring/Summer deliveries. (Magazines are really just fancy catalogs for the companies that advertise in them) Now I am going to say something that unfortunately is true, but that I don’t should be true, but that should come as no surprise. Generally, girls who are Adele’s size aren’t usually on the cover of American Vogue. (She was on the cover of British Vogue last year, October) So on one hand, awesomesauce, big win for the big girls. Adele is crazy hot, flawless skin, and a rack that won’t quit. I think it’s amazing, and she nailed her look at the Grammys (the higher the hair, the closer to God), and honestly I thought she was too thin.

But here’s the worker, the cover is a head and shoulders. And the pictures inside are head and shoulder except for one. Its not a 22 page spread of her in major Spring runway looks. I had read ages ago in WWD, that Vogue had called a few designers and asked that they make up some looks in her size. And they apparently got 1 Oscar de la Renta dress. I call bullshit. Or am I just crapping in Cheerios by complaining here? What do you think? I kind of wanted to see her in some Fashion.
